Audley End Miniature Railway invites families to step into our enchanted woodland in North Essex this festive season as we prepare for another Magical Christmas journey in the heart of the forest. We can’t wait to share our unforgettable, Christmas Special this 22nd November to 24th December.

For us, Christmas doesn’t start in the winter, it starts the moment we begin planning every decoration and every magical detail of your family’s visit. Months of preparation go into creating an experience that is more than just an event; it’s a memory-making day out you’ll treasure for years to come.

Your Christmas Adventure Awaits

Your day begins with a warm welcome from Holly the Christmas Fairy, who will guide you onto the train. As it chugs deep into the enchanted forest, the air fills with the glow of festive lights and the promise of Christmas wonder. You will spot Christmas scenes along the way before you arrive…

At Father Christmas’ workshop, where more friendly elves await, along with the Nutcracker and a graceful Ballerina who will bring a touch of theatre to your visit. The highlight, of course, is meeting Father Christmas and Mother Christmas, who will greet each child personally from the comfort of your train carriage and present each little one with a small gift. Take a stroll around the Fulfen Forest, and see all of the twinkly lights with plenty of places to take photos. Meet our reindeer keepers who will help you to make reindeer food to leave out on Christmas Eve. You can write your very own letter to Father Christmas, and post it our post box that goes straight to the North Pole. Pop to the stage show. Find Fairies and Elves in their festive homes. Don’t forget to let off steam at the adventure playground and enjoy a hot chocolate. Every step of the experience has been designed to immerse you in the magic of Christmas. We hope you love it!

Your train journey into the enchanted woods. Meet, (from the comfort of your train carriage) Father and Mother Christmas, and a gift for every child. Reindeer food making, letter writing, the stage show, our Fairy & Elf Walk and our adventure playground. Our Woodland Cafe will be open with a range of delicious hot and cold food. For a small additional cost, you can toast your own marshmallows around the fire.
