Little Feet: Ancient Assyrian adventure

The British Museum

Great Russell Street, WC1B 3DG

Free

Visit the ancient Assyrian empire of King Ashurbanipal with the Little Feet teddies!

It will be a long journey so you'll need to create a horse to help you travel swiftly to the palace of Ninevah – and practice your chariot skills by rolling objects along the royal roads.

The gardens of Ashurbanipal's palace in Ninevah were like paradise on earth. Examine the finely carved reliefs showing the glorious gardens and help to recreate them with colourful plants and fragrant blossoms. Make a flower headband to wear home and a posy of flowers to take with you.

Love reading? The first catalogued library was created by Ashurbanipal, so choose a book and explore the cosy book corner. Try your hand at the ancient writing form cuneiform with a simple tool and some clay. There will be lots to explore and do for all under-fives.
