Dates:
In an enchanting and active session, under fives and their parents and carers will embark on a journey filled with wonder and excitement. Using Museum objects as inspiration, this will be an opportunity to discover and explore different senses.
Inspired by clocks and watches in the Museum collection, you can use the percussion instruments to tap a rhythm, roll the number dice and practice counting to a beat. Explore what the different sculptures in the Museum might feel like – are they smooth like polished stone or rough like sand? Visit the aroma area and take the smell cube challenge – can you find the matching objects? Don't forget the art and craft zone where you can create your own sensory explorer panel to take home.
This event is free to drop into at any time between 10.30 and 12.00 To get to the Clore Centre for Education in the lower levels, take the stairs going down on the east side of the Great Court. View the Museum map(Opens in new window) for more information. You're advised to book a free timed ticket(Opens in new window) for Museum entry to receive key information and updates before your visit and priority entry during busy periods. The Main entrance is on Great Russell Street. Your timed ticket allows you to explore the permanent collection as well. See the Visit page for more information.
