Join a day full of creative play at Young V&A. Play with artists Yuri Suzuki and Shepherd Manyika in their creative workshops, bring your toys back to life at our toy surgery with Play it Again.
Meet young designers from Kingston School of Art, play outdoor with our community partner Well One, and enjoy a DJ set by Yuri Suzuki using the sound system designed by Very Very Far Away.
Open to everyone in the family – from children to adults.
Programme:
Acoustic Pavilion with Yuri Suzuki (Town Square)
Build playful structures and explore sound and space.
At 15.30, there will be a special DJ set by artist Yuri Suzuki, using the sound system designed by Very Very Far Away.
Sound Opus with Shepherd Manyika (the Stage)
Listen, collect and make sounds, and help artist Shepherd Manyika create a live Young V&A playlist for the day. This activity will take place every 30 minutes between 12.00-15.30.
Future Kidz: active play with Well One (North Garden)
Join our community partner, Ceejay and the Well One team for construction and active play outdoor. This activity will run between 12.00-15.00.
Drop-in Toy Surgery with Play it Again (the Shed)
Bring your old toys along to get them fixed with 'Play it Again'.
Meet the Playmakers, Design Workshop and Display (Open Studio)
Meet the students from Kingston School of Art, Join their workshop to learn about their playful approach to design. View a select display of playful designs from new graduates and meet the designers behind the work.
