Tate Modern

Bankside, SE1 9TG

10 Feb 2024 - 18 Feb 2024

Free

Create your own 'sound art' using a range of materials and inspiration from the art in Tate's collection.

You can explore hanging soundscapes, sound sculptures or even make your own sound by moving your body

Join us over half-term in the South Tank to fill the space with echoes, rattles, hums, donks and bops. Why not work with others out loud or listen quietly by yourself. What noises can you make with found objects, recycled card and your own body? What does each sound remind you of? Can you recreate a familiar sound? We have materials, microphones, headphones and speakers , all ready for you to get noisy, listen in and create your own symphony.

Ear defenders will be available.

Join a Touch Rave Session!

Touch Rave is a participatory space for engaging touch, cooperation and friendship to make music together.   The sounds can only be made by connecting and playing as a group. Through physical touch - maybe with people you know, maybe with strangers - you can make music, you can move, dance, and make new connections.

Each connection creates one element of the music. Find the beat.  Find the melody.  Find the bassline.  Rave!

Drop in at any point during your visit.
