Dates:
Create experimental soundscapes inspired by urban nature, from the sounds of microscopic life teeming in the soil to the overground train passing by.
Come along to the family day and celebrate the start of Spring by exploring the magical visible and hidden ecosystems that call the Museum gardens home.
Craft a listening instrument in artist Jenny Pengilly’s sonic play space, to help you tune into sounds heard above, around and beneath us. Activate and amplify nature’s audio with your own makeshift installations, mimicking an array of outdoor sounds, from squelchy soil and crawling critters, to soft raindrops or blustery wind.
Sound map your journeys around the Museum and and document your nature-inspired sounds in our playhouse which will be transformed into a mini recording studio.
The sessions are designed to be safe and welcoming for all. Workshops are suitable for families of all ages – babies, children and adults can all enjoy sensory exploration of the museum’s indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as an array of making and play materials.
