Hackney Museum

Hackney Museum, the community history museum for London Borough of Hackney, houses and preserves over 8,500 objects, artworks, images, and history recordings.

It offers a delightful family day out with various engaging hands-on activities, including a 38 red bus, an Anglo Saxon boat, Victorian dressing up, and more to keep children entertained.

Eating and drinking (except bottled water) are not allowed in Hackney Museum. There is no cafe, however there are many cafes, restaurants, pubs and world kitchens nearby.

FAMILY FACILITIES

Hackney Museum is on the ground floor and has automatic doors, making easy moving around the space with your pushchair. They also provide a Buggy Parking area inside the museum so you can leave your buggy to one side if you would like to during your visit. Baby changing facilities are available. Breastfeeding is welcome.

ACCESSIBILITY

Security staff assist with building entry and exit doors. Hackney Museum is conveniently located on the ground floor with level access and automatic doors. Accessible toilets inside include male, female, gender-neutral, and wheelchair accessible options. Foldable stools and wheelchairs are provided for visitors with mobility difficulties. Blue badge parking is available at the front of the building on Reading Lane.
